Ever since Henry Knight / Martin Crieff fics started popping up I had wanted to draw something romantic for it.

PS: The composition and theme is inspired from The Poor Poet, by Carl Spitzweg. As soon as I saw the painting, with the dingy attic, tiny poet who was nevertheless determined to follow his dream at all costs to living conditions, I thought, “Wow, that is familiar”. Hence, this piece!
